I finally weighed myself after missing 2 weeks and not weighing myself since 12/22/10 as you can see on my Weekly Weigh In page.
Luckily, the scale didn’t break or report back a truly horrifying number as I was scared it might. Now, that doesn’t mean the number made me happy. As of course it was higher than before and yes I GAIN weight, but unlike what I was expecting as stated in my last post it was…….only 5 pounds!
Not that I am jumping for joy at the fact that I gained now, guess I just thought it would be more than that given the fact that I had been eating badly, not running as much and not visiting the gym since before the holidays.
So what do I plan to do in order to lose my post holiday weight gain?
Basically, I just plan to get back on track, back to what I was doing before the holiday’s hit and I know the pounds will come off!
It always takes a few weeks for me to get back on track after being off it for a while but slowly but surely I do. And, in fact, this week I have started just that by running a quick 2 miles on Tuesday morning and then hitting the gym after work on Wednesday in order to do 45 minutes of abs and upper/lower body core exercises, plus a fast 10+ minute 1 mile run on the treadmill before I left.
I also plan to run at the gym after work tonight, Thursday.
Of course, I would prefer to run outside but as you can see below it is a bit chilly out there and I do not have the proper “winter” running gear to survive an outside run in these temperatures right now…….so the gym it is.
And, thanks to my very sweet friend and fellow co-worker I received the below in the mail over the weekend……….
……..which after reading several pages has already given me lots of MOTIVATION to run, run, run!!! I have always wanted this magazine but just did not have the extra funds for a subscription so imagine my surprise when I got a “gift subscription” in the mail. THANK YOU AGAIN, Catrina!

Since Monday I have had a cough that just will not go away!!!
I believe it first stemmed from the Stuffy Nose I had at the end of last week, however I know I would not still have it if it wasn’t for the fact that we have had the heat on since Sunday night due to a Cold Front we are having here in Central Florida that has brought freezing temperatures to the area.
So as you can imagine the “heat” does not help my situation, especially when it is the 1st time we have turned it on so far this year so who knows what came flying out when we did that.
Luckily, I do not feel that bad and it seems to be getting better everyday!
BUT – – – I haven’t felt well enough to head outside (especially in the freezing cold weather) to run or the gym either for that matter. So today, marks 1 Week since I ran last and 2+ weeks since I have been to the gym (the gym is due to my work schedule being crazy recently).
However, I think I might try to run tonight after work. Even if it is only for 2 miles or so. And, if that doesn’t work I plan on hitting the gym this Friday after work and the pavement this weekend to run as the weather is due to get a bit warm per the 7 Day Weather Forecast.
Overall, I have missed running and the gym a lot!
In fact, I have been feeling the stress of not doing either.
Fortunately, though I haven’t been stressed weight wise as the scale has been very friendly to me as you can see on my Weekly Weigh In page. Which, I know is mainly due to the fact that I haven’t been eating as much due to being sick and I have also not been snacking at night either in order to keep my numbers low.
I have been surprised how easy it has been to avoid eating bad food or too much over the past week. Guess being sick does that to you. Not only do you not have much of an appetite, a stuffy nose doesn’t make things taste so great either.
So as you can imagine my EATS have been pretty good so far this week. =)

I must admit I had the above on Friday, Saturday and Monday due to forgetting to buy creamier at the grocery store. Luckily, it only cost $1.80 a cup so it didn’t break the bank too much now.
It has been awhile since I had oatmeal in a peanut butter jar and for the life of me I do not know why as I forgot how GOOD it is, YUM! In fact, I added peanut butter to my oatmeal on Tuesday and Wednesday as well because I loved the taste so much.
I think did pretty good on my eats, what do you think???
However, when things like this…………..
…………start arriving in your office it begins to become tough to not break in and eat it even when you are under the weather!!! =O
What kind of “goodies” do you get at work or home for the holidays???
Every year we get one of the above from someone we work with as well as a Harry & David basket that should be arriving soon. We used to get a lot more stuff in the past but due to the current economy everyone has cut back so we do not anymore, which is ok in my eyes as I do not need all the temptation around. =)
